The first Persian Empire was a short-lived empire that was founded back in the 550 B.C. and died in 330 B.C. Cyrus the Great was the first emperor of the of this first Persian Empire which is commonly referred to as the Achaemenid Dynasty. In its time, the empire grew to cover much of the region that stretched out between the Indus Valley to the edges of Greece; including most of Egypt.
