Our Forager How-to Get Archaeology Items Guide will walk you through how you get each of these items required for filling up your Museum! These items are a bit hard to find and require some effort, but if you are looking to fully complete the game then you will need to put in some of the effort. We've also got some tips on how to best find these so they won't be such a hassle.

There's a bunch of items you'll need to find to complete the Archaeology section of your Museum: Anchor, Dino Egg, Fossil, Frozen Relic, Frozen Squid, Kapala, Lava Eel, Skeleton Fish, Sphynx, ands the Sunken Ankh. Each of these items is also either used in a quest or gives you the ability to craft specific Rods that can be used to throw magic around!

How-to Get & Find Archaeology Items in Forager

There's a couple of requirements that you'll want to have prior to going after all of these items. You will want to have at least one spot of each biome opened up on the map before you attempt to collect them all. You will also want a highly upgrade Shovel because you are going to have to do a lot of digging. You are going to want the Shovel upgraded anyway, because Sand becomes a pretty important resource in the late game and digging is the best way to get it!

To get the Shovel you will need to unlock the Farming skill. Grab the Foraging and Gathering skill and it will be right below Gathering. I would recommend upgrading the Shovel it fully before heading out and looking for these items, but getting it to "Nomad's Shovel" level is good because you'll get Sand each time you dig. Why do you need the Shovel? Well, a majority of the items are found by digging in specific Biomes at Dig Spots (small craters found on the ground, they are pretty obvious). It is a random drop each time you dig at one of these spots, so you might need to dig a whole lot to uncover some of these items!

While Dig Spots are going to be the only way to get the items, you might as well just spam dig around with your Shovel to get extra resources.

The other thing you are going to need is fishing traps set up in each of the Biomes. Some of these items can only be gained by fishing them up, and again this is going to be random. You will want to start adding traps around the map in the different Biomes as soon as possible! If you really want to speed things up, you might want to grab the Fishing skill which speeds up the trap catch rate by 50%. I don't really recommend this because they seem to drop pretty quickly!

Really Struggling?

If you're absolutely struggling to find one of the items that require digging then there's another pretty solid option you can try. There's a structure called a Shrine that can be built by having unlocked the skill in the magic section of the skill tree. It gives you two random advantages to pick from and can be used every 45 minutes or so. One of the possible options will grant you a whole bunch of Dig Spots in the exact area of the Shrine! Place a Shrine in the Biome of the item you are looking to find, and keep trying for that option. Once you get it, you are pretty guaranteed to dig it up!
