Let us first learn a little about his wife, well actually his former wife. He was previously married to wife, Tamra Zinn. There is not much mentioned about his marriage and divorce other than the dates. He got married to her on 6th October 1990 and later got divorced in 2009.

The couple had met in 1986 when Tamra used to work in management and had the task make Cantore a household name publicizing him as much as possible. Their transition from friend to girlfriend to the wife wasn’t the hard part in their story, life after love was.
It became difficult after the marriage when series of terrifying news hit them. Tamra had the Parkinson’s disease, and both of them had a very busy job. But despite this problem, they were keeping it in check.

The real punch came when they noticed that their son, Ben was having a hard time growing up. From the time he was 18 months old, he could neither walk properly nor speak to the level of his age.
So, after months of checking, it was diagnosed that Ben and her daughter Christine both had fragile or broken X chromosome. While the disorder was hidden in Christine (X chromosome is the only backup for girls), Ben suffered a lot and many people even mistake it for autism.

He drove his children to doctors, therapists, and tutors when he was available and made sure that there was a friend by Tamra’s side whenever he was gone. When he isn't too busy working as a weatherman, he can be seen spending quality time with his children on his Instagram.

Isn't it ironic that the man who made a name for himself by reporting on weather had to weather a barrage of family tragedies one after another? Jim, on his part, hasn't let the sufferings withhold his dreams of finding happiness in his life.
