This whole white day date feels like another setup type of episode. It was kinda adorable though.

Bound by memories of the past and suppressing his true feelings, Makabe dates Aki . On the other hand, Aki , who wishes for Makabe happiness, as we saw last episode, is told by Fujinomiya to break up with him. Aki had previously realized that Makabe had approached her with revenge in mind, having seen Makabe's Revenge Notebook. She truly feels that her love for him is one-sided and sheds tears. In that moment, Yoshino confesses the truth about events from eight years ago and the Operation to drive Makabe from seeing Aki, to her. With all the knowledge she now possesses, Aki invites Masamune to a date for a particular reason. What's that reason you ask, well to one, have one of the bullies from back in his cubby days, apologize to Makabe, and for Aki to drop the bombshell and ask Makabe, to breakup.
As a devoted fan of the Makabe and Aki pairing, this episode was quite the painful experience for me. Even up to the last episode, I held the belief that this Yoshino drama was just a plot device to intensify the story further. I don't think the possibility of Makabe and Aki being together is completely impossible though. However, this episode dealt a major blow to their chances. On the other hand, it's also possible that this is a deliberate setup to finally force Makabe and Aki to have a much-needed heart-to-heart, putting all the cards on the table.
But for now, it looks like the Yoshino way is here to stay.

Try as she might Neko has no chance of changing Mas and Aki's relationship now. Its nice seeing Yoshino come clean as well. That was an impressive Daruma that Mas ended up building out of the snow. Aki being the one to ask Mas out was surprising. The shop that they went to for the white day gift sure was pretty nice. That date was quite the surprise. Never expected Aki to get some revenge for Mas by finding one of his bullies and confronting them. Still im curious as to what Aki is doing though.

What the heck was up with that ending? This anime could have ended in this episode, but now they decided to throw an unexpected plot twist in the end? Why???? Its like "We here for 12 episodes, so milk this to the end, create out of nowhere drama". Given, I did watch the OVA episode that came out after season 1 ended, so I guess they still gotta show us the female MC with short hair.

We are seeing twist after twist out of nowhere and I really didn't like it. At this point creator tries to mess with plot so hard to look different from generic rom-com series.

With that sorted, the focus went towards White Day, where Makabe was struggling to make homemade chocolate to give to Aki, which in the end, he gave up and opted for store-bought chocolate, although it was a fancy one at that. The date itself was nice, but Aki's planning was able to help set up a meeting with one of the bullies from their childhood, who now works in a convenience store. This was a nice thing for Aki to set up, which also helped the former bully to apologise to Makabe for what he did to him in the past.
After that, came the moment where Aki rejected Makabe's chocolate gift and bids farewell to him by saying his full name, which probably means the end of their relationship. Whether that means he'll finally be honest about his side of the story about his revenge plan towards Aki and potentially will end up with Yoshino, I'm not sure at all. There's only two episodes left, so whatever happens next, I hope it won't be rushed too much.

So much was going well with Yoshino revealing what really happened, Aki and Masamune getting closer, even Aki doing something for him too and now she throws that big curveball it's like a wrecking ball just suddenly got you wacked around the head at full speed, what in the actual fuck's gonna happen????? 😂

- Yoshino notices Aki seems disturbed after her conversation with Neko,
- Aki tells the truth, Neko wanted her to break up with Masamune since he doesn't love her and is only after her for Revenge!
- Yoshino's guilt finally gets the best of her, and she actually CONFESSES the truth to Aki! FINALLY!!! Hooo boy.
- Aki say she already knows, and forgives Yoshino! Wow!!!
- All the boys having received chocolates on valentines's day are panicking about what to give the girls for White day
- Masamune is all "I'm going to make Macarons" and fails horribly, more than once
- He ends up buying something instead
- Aki plans their date, she takes him to a combini (convenience store) to confront one of his bullies
- After that Masamune admits he feels better, and doesn't need to confront his other 2 bullies
- He gives Aki white chocolate, but ...
- dun dun dun, she REJECTS the gift, and tells him goodbye!!
Dude got dumped in spectacular fashion! Which honestly, I guess I can't blame her, no woman wants a boy who isn't really into her 100%, that's like a pity date.
Well, I was happy with Yoshino's apology. But is there any way for Masamune to make it right now? Even Aki can tell he really is into Yoshino more than her. Where does that leave Yoshino? If she dates Masamune every visit will be "well, that is awkward" not to mention won't her job security be at risk?
Pass the popcorn, this isn't even remotely close to the end of things, expect moar drama incoming!

uhm, I think Aki broke up with Masamune 'cause she clearly sees he's not into her, thanks to Yoshino's confession she underdstands that Masamune is not happy by her side (she saw all the signs he "gave") and, obviously he's not in love with her.
I bet Aki believes he's uncomfortable when they're together and is forcing himself, so she wants Masamune to be happy so she's setting him free even if she loves him

was a terrific and beautiful episode that totally got destroyed by that ending. seriously the last 30 seconds were just uncalled for. this would have been a good place to end the show but now this?!? It's amazing how i was going to rate this episode a 5 only to drop it to a 1 based on the last 30 seconds.

@Shaka-bun it seriously feels like forced drama from the writers; this show would have been better off as an 8 or 10 episode ONA, now it's getting stretched out to the point of annoyance.
