Ray St. Germain - Voyage Funeral Homes Obituaries (1)

July 29, 1940 – June 25, 2024

It is with a broken heart that I announce the passing of my beloved husband, the legendary Ray St. Germain. After several years of Parkinson’s, he passed away quietly at Deer Lodge Care Home, surrounded by family and dear friends. Special thanks to the staff at Deer Lodge for their compassionate care and dedication to respectfully caring for our wonderful Ray.

I was blessed to have 50 years with my amazing husband Ray St. Germain. Together, we spent our lives filled with music, love, and laughter with our five children, Chrystal (Rob), Catherine (Mike), Ray Jr. (Leandrea), David, and Sherry, along with our grandchildren Jeff (Justin), Jordan, Catie (Andre), Cody, Eva, Jay, and Gemma, and great-grandchildren Bash, Brooks and Liam.

Our hearts are filled with gratitude for all our relatives, family, and friends who have been a part of our journey. Your support and love have been a source of strength for us. We especially want to thank Manitoba Metis Federation MMF President David Chartrand and Ray’s Metis Hour X 2 co-host Naomi Clark for their unwavering support and love.

We are deeply grateful to all the musicians who have shared the stage with Ray, contributing to his unforgettable performances and his television series. Your collaboration has not only brought joy to our lives but has also been instrumental in recognizing his numerous awards throughout his illustrious career.

Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at 1:30 p.m., at Calvary Temple, located at 440 Hargrave Street.

With Love and Gratitude, Glory St. Germain & family.

Our deepest condolences to you and the family. RIP Ray and Thank you for the wonderful music. My family was great friends with Edie and Denis Hamerstead. My father played many instruments and stepped in a couple of times to play the drums. I had the honour of watching Sherry sing at lower fort garry and DJ hit the stage as well. My son took guitar lessons with Denis. Ray was very kind to talk with our son at Lockport many years ago.
He truly was a legend and he will not be forgotten.
May the birds dance, sing and light up the sky this weekend.

Ray was the best boss I ever had, when I was barely 18 years old and worked for him at Chan’s Moon Room, in the 1970’s. He was gentle, kind, appreciative, and a terrific talent on stage. There are tears and sadness at his passing. May he rest in peace. My condolences to his wife and family. Chris Saciuk

My heart and condolences go out to Glory and her family.
The times I had talked to Ray, he was always so genuine and real. Kind soul is what pops into my mind. I found he always gave me his total attention.
I knew Glory better, but I always was awestruck at the love I saw in Glory’s eyes when the two of them would text on the phone together and how they loved meeting up for their lunches together. They reminded me of a super couple full of love and life!
Since there is no such thing as death, he is more alive now and can be right there with every single one of his family members whenever they need him!❤️

    Sent with all my love,
    Velvet G

At an early age I was impacted by music, especially in me early teens when I would watch Big Sky Country and I loved watching and listening to Ray perform. I’m grateful to have work with Mr. Ray of Sunshine for over 20 years. Always checking in to see how I was doing and every now and then leave me a voice mail with him singing a song. It’s not everyday that a music Legend would take the time to check in with anyone but Ray was unique, caring, kind and very respectful and funny.

I’ll miss your hugs and your beautiful voice, Elvis has his opening act the Mighty Métis Legend Ray St. Germain.

    I’m mighty proud, I’m Métis
Rest easy my friend and god bless your family and friends.
