Interesting... don't think I've saw that one. The error message would have been pretty clear on the cache issue though.

Most browsers, rather than clearing your cache... Go to the sign on screen, Hold Cntrl and click F5 or R, and it will clear the cache for just that domain (Presumably your OMV domain)... and reload it... and won't effect your other sites.

I just dealt with the same issue on Firefox. You have to delete cached data AND

        cookies

for the website. To avoid clearing site data for all sites, I cleared cookies and cached data for OMV by IP address. Firefox allows that.

Without clearing everything, I'm not sure how to selectively clear site data and cookies with Edge or Explorer.

I've seen the same behaviour on the VM usually after an update, but the odd behaviour is only related to either one or two of the left hand menu listings, , either clearing the cache, reloading the the page or a reboot can resolve it and that's on chrome. It's odd as I've not seen it before.

I was trying to figure out why I didn't have this problem in my testing.. and now I'm pretty sure it's because I run FF in Privacy mode while using my OMV 6 install.

Could be, as I use Chrome I'll try the incongnito window, I wonder if it's an extension in Chrome that's causing it Software Failure. Obsolete cached data - openmediavault (8)

Before going any farther, I tried a reboot. It didn't work in my case.

If it happens again, I'll see if it can be isolated to cookies only. In my case, purging site data wasn't enough.

On the last update it didn't work for me either, I've since shut the vm down, as I'm going to re organise my man cave, have some new 24" monitors Software Failure. That would explain it. No site data OR cookies are stored, when the app is closed. Obsolete cache data wouldn't enter the picture.

Eight? Are they to be mounted edge to edge?

I bought a 32" high res flat screen TV, for use as a monitor. I have yet to use it because of it's bulk on a small desk. Thinking about it, using an articulating wall mount might be the answer.

haha, no 2, a local office was closing down due to working from home, got 3 for price of 2, brand new still sealed in box, I've got 2 and Suzi has the other one connected to her laptop.

I'm facing the same issue now but only on the Laptop (MS Edge 97.0.1072.55 (Compilação oficial) (64 bits)

Access is beeing done via secured SWAG. (Can't test it locally ATM. Later I'll wireguard to it and see if it happens locally also).

Funny as it is, access via my phone on Chrome 97.0.4692.70 (also secured SWAG) everything is working as it should.

          Go figure...

          [EDIT]

After rebooting, the cache issue was gone.

Those errors are normal and happen everytime you update since 6.0.1 or 2 (don't remember right).

Today I faced the same problem and this solved my problem. Thanks!

But I think it would be good to add that tip to error message - it will save A LOT of time, if someone faces this issue.

As a mechanical engineer with not-so-long experience I know, what people can do if something goes wrong. Common and ordinary problems can turn in their minds into total-fatal-unsolvable disaster.

Secondly, as I say - if I liked searching, I would become a dosimetrist. Why? Because my job would be to seek and never find Software Failure. Obsolete cached data - openmediavault (20)

What's the problem about changing error message to something like that? Software Failure. Obsolete cached data - openmediavault (21)

                      I would become a dosimetrist

Never heard that word so, had to search it:

                      dosimetrist at DuckDuckGo

Learned a new thing today, thank you.

                      if I liked searching

That's the reason why there are pinned topics with the most common situations and their solution to issues that are so recurrent, that the forum is spammed constantly, forcing people (moderators, helpers, etc) to keep saying the same thing over and over.

And, since this is a free software, don't expect that EVERYTHING can be covered.

Bu, as geaves said, you can always ask it on github, and maybe @volker can change this:
                      openmediavault/guru-meditation.component.html at master · openmediavault/openmediavault (github.com)

                      Code

                       {{ 'Software Failure.   Press left mouse button to continue.' | transloco }}

                      To maybe this:

                      Code

                       {{ 'Software Failure.   Refresh browser cache with Ctrl+Shift+R.' | transloco }}
